The BCB issued a statement on Monday (February 13), confirming the punishment of the three players.
Mahedi Hasan and Nicholas Pooran from Rangpur Riders and Musaddek Hossain from Comilla Victorians have been penalized for actions that violated the spirit of the game, including abuse of cricket equipment and breach of clothing regulations.
Mahedi was fined 25% of his match fees and received one demerit point for violating Article 2.2 of the BCB Code of Conduct during the eliminator match against Fortune Barishal on February 12 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Mirpur.
Pooran was fined 50% of his match fees and received two demerit points for violating Article 2.22 of the BCB Code of Conduct during the same match. He was charged for wearing an unauthorized logo on his helmet.
Musaddek was fined 25% of his match fees and received one demerit point for violating Article 2.22 of the BCB Code of Conduct during the first qualifier against Sylhet Strikers on February 12 at SBNCS. He was found to have worn an unauthorized logo on his helmet.
The on-field umpires, third umpires, and fourth umpires of the respective matches brought the charges forward. The players admitted their offenses and accepted the sanctions proposed by the match referees, avoiding the need for formal hearings.
